What We Do

Live Product Demonstrations That Turn Sceptics Into Buyers

The single most powerful objection any consumer has to buying a new product is simple: “I don’t know if it actually works as well as they claim.” No amount of advertising copy, celebrity endorsement, or shelf presence resolves this objection as effectively as a live demonstration in front of the consumer’s eyes.

Fulcrum’s demonstration activity service deploys thoroughly trained demonstrators — product specialists who understand your product deeply, communicate its benefits compellingly, and physically show consumers exactly how it works in real conditions. This is not generic promoter activity. Our demonstrators are product advocates who have been trained to make your product the obvious, confident choice at the point of purchase through live, hands-on product performance.

“A demonstration doesn’t just show what your product does — it proves it. And a consumer who has seen proof buys with confidence, not hesitation.”

Our Demonstration Process

How We Plan & Execute Your Demonstration Campaign

Every Fulcrum demonstration activity campaign follows a rigorous 5-step process — ensuring every demonstrator is genuinely product-expert and every demonstration delivers measurable results.

1
Brief & Product Deep-DiveWe conduct a thorough product briefing — studying your product in detail, understanding its features, benefits, usage instructions, target consumer, competitive context, and the key objections we need to handle during demonstrations.
2
Demonstrator Recruitment & SelectionWe identify and recruit demonstrators with the right category background — food-trained staff for kitchen products, beauty-trained staff for personal care, tech-savvy staff for electronics — matching skills to your product requirements.
3
Intensive Product TrainingDemonstrators undergo thorough product training — hands-on product practice, demonstration script development, objection handling preparation, and assessment before any consumer-facing activity begins. Only those who pass the product knowledge assessment are deployed.
4
Demonstration Execution & MonitoringGPS-verified attendance, supervisor spot checks, real-time quality monitoring, and same-day issue resolution ensure every demonstration is executed to the required standard at every location every day.
5
Daily Reporting & Consumer IntelligenceDaily MIS reports covering demonstrations conducted, consumer interactions, conversions, key questions asked, objections encountered, and competitor activity — giving you genuine market intelligence alongside performance data.
Why Demonstration Works

Why Live Product Demonstrations Are Your Most Effective Sales Tool

Demonstrations work because they replace consumer uncertainty with direct, personal product experience — and certainty is what converts consideration into purchase.

Proof Over Promise

Consumers are naturally sceptical of advertising claims. A live demonstration in front of their eyes is undeniable proof — it shows the product working in real conditions, removing the credibility gap that advertising can never fully close.

Real-Time Objection Resolution

A trained demonstrator handles objections in the moment — “Will it work on my skin type?”, “Is it easy to use?”, “Is it worth the price?” — converting hesitant browsers into confident buyers through personal, direct engagement.

Higher Average Order Value

Consumers who receive a product demonstration typically purchase at a higher average value — buying full-size products, related accessories, or multiple SKUs because the demonstration built confidence across the range, not just a single item.

Builds Brand Relationship

A positive demonstration creates a personal brand memory — the consumer remembers the demonstrator’s explanation, the live performance of the product, and the feeling of confidence it created. This emotional connection drives repeat purchase.

Measurable Conversion Data

Unlike advertising, demonstrations provide granular daily conversion data — exactly how many consumers engaged, how many purchased, what questions were asked — enabling rapid campaign optimisation and clear ROI measurement.

Ideal for Complex or New Products

Products that require explanation — appliances, health products, technology — sell dramatically better with live demonstration than any other marketing activity, because the demonstration answers the “but how does it actually work?” question definitively.

Demo vs Sampling

Demonstration Activities vs Product Sampling — Which Do You Need?

Both are powerful consumer activation tools — but they serve different products and objectives. Here is how to decide which is right for your brand.

Demonstration Activities

Best when your product needs to be seen in action to be believed — performance, ease of use, or results need to be witnessed rather than experienced.

  • Consumer electronics & appliances
  • Kitchen gadgets & cookware
  • Cleaning products (visible results)
  • Beauty & personal care application
  • Health devices (BP monitor, massager)
  • Any product where the demo creates an “aha” moment
  • Complex or technical products needing explanation

Product Sampling

Best when your product needs to be tasted, smelled, or personally experienced to drive purchase intent — the sensory trial creates the purchase conviction.

  • Food & beverages (taste drives trial)
  • Fragrance & deodorant products
  • Skincare & haircare (feel on skin/hair)
  • New FMCG products needing category trial
  • Competitive switching campaigns
  • Any product where the experience IS the proof
  • Low-cost items where sampling ROI is high

Demo Activities FAQ

Questions About Demonstration Activities

Common questions from brands planning demonstration campaigns. Talk to us directly.

What is a demonstration activity and how is it different from in-store promotion?+
A demonstration activity is a marketing activation where a trained specialist physically demonstrates your product’s features and performance to consumers in real time — showing the product actually working, not just describing its benefits. This is different from general in-store promotion, where a promoter’s role is primarily to engage, communicate, and encourage purchase. Demonstrations go deeper — they require product specialists who can operate the product expertly, explain technical features clearly, and make the product performance visible to the consumer. For a kitchen mixer, a demonstrator doesn’t just hand out a brochure — they chop vegetables, grind spices, and make a smoothie in front of the consumer to prove the machine’s capability. For a skincare product, a beauty advisor applies the product correctly on the consumer’s skin and explains the visible results. The demonstration itself is the sales argument.
What types of products are best suited to demonstration activities?+
Demonstration activities deliver the highest ROI for products where performance needs to be seen, felt, or experienced directly to overcome purchase hesitation. This includes: kitchen and home appliances (blenders, juicers, vacuum cleaners, mops — where cleaning or cooking performance is visible); consumer electronics (phones, laptops, wearables — where features need hands-on explanation); personal care and beauty products (skincare, haircare — where application method and feel matter); cleaning products (detergents, surface cleaners — where visible results create immediate conviction); health and wellness devices (blood pressure monitors, massagers — where the consumer needs confidence in operation); and any product that is complex, new to market, or premium-priced, where the consumer needs to see proof before making a financial commitment. Demonstration is less suitable for commoditised, low-consideration purchases where the consumer already knows what they are buying — those are better served by sampling or promotional pricing.
How does Fulcrum train demonstrators for complex products?+
For complex or technical products, our training programme is significantly more intensive than for standard promotional activity. We begin with a deep product familiarisation session — our training team studies all product documentation, watches manufacturer training videos, and physically operates the product extensively before designing the demonstrator training programme. Demonstrators are selected for relevant background — we recruit people with food preparation experience for kitchen appliance demos, beauty-trained personnel for personal care demos, and tech-literate staff for electronics. The training covers: complete product knowledge and all features; correct and compelling demonstration technique (showing the most impressive features in the most impactful sequence); handling of technical questions; competitive comparison knowledge; and objection handling for the most common hesitations. Demonstrators must pass a practical assessment — performing the complete demonstration on camera — before being cleared for deployment. For particularly complex products, manufacturer or brand team involvement in the training is encouraged.
How many consumer demonstrations can one demonstrator conduct per day?+
The number of demonstrations per day depends on the product complexity and demonstration duration. For quick demonstrations of 3–5 minutes (simple food items, cleaning products), a demonstrator can engage 40–80 consumers per day in a high-footfall location. For medium-complexity demonstrations of 8–12 minutes (kitchen appliances, beauty products), the count is typically 20–35 per day. For full product demonstrations of 15–20 minutes (complex electronics, appliances with multiple features), a demonstrator typically completes 12–20 in-depth demonstrations per day. Note that these are meaningful, conversion-focused demonstrations — not passing interactions. Each demonstration is tracked in the daily MIS report, giving you precise data on demonstrations conducted per demonstrator per day across the campaign.
Should I combine demonstrations with product sampling?+
For many products, combining demonstration and sampling in the same activation delivers the strongest possible consumer experience. This is particularly powerful for food products where the demonstration shows how to prepare or use the product and the sampling allows the consumer to immediately taste the result. For example, a blender brand might have demonstrators make fresh fruit smoothies — the demonstration proves the machine’s power and ease of use, and the immediate sampling lets consumers taste the quality of the result. For personal care, demonstrating application technique and then allowing the consumer to feel the product on their skin combines the educational impact of demonstration with the sensory impact of trial. We design many campaigns as combined demonstration-plus-sampling activations because the two activities reinforce each other — the demonstration creates interest and explains the product, and the sampling creates the personal sensory experience that drives the purchase decision.
